Daphne...
says ONE word (dada)
has TWO teeth
takes THREE naps a day
has "skyped" FOUR times
eats FIVE meals a day
started walking SIX weeks ago
is happy 24/SEVEN
understands EIGHT words (see below)
is NINE months old
does TEN "tricks" (see below)
8 Words: clap, wave, dance, bye-bye, brush, Daddy, sock, and NO (in the sense that when she does something we don't want her to do, and we tell her "no" she smiles real big and makes sure we are looking before she does it again). She seems to understand the other words by either acting them out when we say them (such as clapping or dancing) or pointing to them (as with "Daddy" and "sock"). There are probably many other words she is starting to understand, but these are the main ones I know of.
10 "tricks": Most are connected with the words she knows. She will (1) clap, (2) wave, and (3) dance on command. She can (4) point, and randomly points at objects and people. She (5) picks her nose. She is (6) no longer afraid to roll over in the tub. She will (7) brush her hair when asked, even though the brush is usually facing away from her hair. When she's holding her toy cell phone and you ask her to say "hello" she will (8) hold it up to her ear. She (9) plays peek-a-boo games by hiding in different places (behind a blanket, in the kitchen pantry) and popping out when you ask "Where's Daphne?!" And #10 - She charms a smile out of everyone she meets.

Of course she's walking! She was so close when we saw her around Christmas. What a big girl. She's darling!!
I'm jealous Christian got to meet her and I didn't. But just so you know, when he came home last night he said, "They have one cute baby!" I'm amazed that she started walking so early. She must be a smarty pants like her mother!
